Three fire halls were called to a structure fire at the corner of Chief Lake and Raceway road this evening at approximately 7:30 pm.

Pilot Mountain, Pineview, and Ness Lake all responded to the call.

Witnesses reported between 15-20 firefighters on scene.

According to Pilot Mountain Fire Chief Gil Lainey, the building was fully engulfed upon arrival.

“They (the call) described it as a barn or storage area,” said Lainey, who added the contents of the building are currently unknown.

The cause is still under investigation.
