Following a spike in excessive speed offences, BC RCMP announced a return to pre-Covid levels of traffic enforcement this past Friday.
Over the long weekend, 179 Northern BC drivers were issued speeding offences, including 12 cases involving excessive speed.
This trend was seen province-wide, as BC RCMP Traffic Services impounded nearly 150 vehicles for excessive speed alone over the long weekend.
No fatal collisions were reported across BC over the weekend.
BC RCMP are reminding the public that May High Risk Driving Month.
