Prince George man facing multiple charges following crash involving stolen vehicle

A 27-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences following a highway collision outside of Lytton, reportedly involving a vehicle stolen from Boston Bar early yesterday (Monday) morning.

Justin Bjorkland of Prince George is charged with possession of stolen property of under $5,000, possession of identity documents and two counts of breach of his probation order.

Just before 8 am, RCMP were notified of a stolen pickup truck headed along Highway 1 towards Lytton.

The grey Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck was reported stolen to the Boston Bar RCMP and taken, within the previous half-hour, from Blue Lake Road.

“Officers came across the stolen vehicle, after it seemingly left the travel portion of the roadway and became involved in a collision, states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“The lone occupant was extricated from the wreckage by fire officials and transported by BC Emergency Health Services Air Ambulance to a regional hospital for medical attention.”

Investigators also located what they believe to be stolen property items inside the wreckage.

The man was removed from the vehicle by fire officials and transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lytton RCMP at 250-455-2225.
