Canada shed over 1-million jobs in March

Canada has lost more than a million jobs to COVID-19.

Statistics Canada says 1,011,000 people were thrown out of work in March.

The country’s unemployment rate rose to 7.8-per cent.

This is the highest the national unemployment rate has been since 1976.

B.C.’s unemployment rate is 7/2 %, up from 5 %.

There were 132,000 jobs lost in B.C. in March.
