Miracle Theatre announced today (Wednesday) that it has made its biggest donation ever to a local charity.
The professional theatre’s recent production of The Birds and The Bees raised $106,265 for The Children of Prince George Fund.
“It’s so easy to get behind a cause that is trying to make things better for kids who are in a really difficult situation,” said Ted Price, director and designer of the productions.
The Children of Prince George Fund is an endowment fund managed by the Prince George Community Foundation, and looks to aid children dealing with serious difficulties such as health challenges, neglect, abuse, or food insecurity.
“With every production, it comes home to us what a remarkably supportive and generous town this is,” Price added.
He continued: “The biggest revenue generator is the box office, but we had a raffle on site every night of the performance, there were concession sales, and we had sponsors and donations from supporters and at the venue each night… 100% went to the Children’s Fund at the Prince George Community Foundation.”
Since 2016 Miracle Theatre has donated over $330,000 to Prince George Charities including Northern BC’s Breast Cancer Clinic, Salvation Army Food Bank, United Way, Prince George Community Foundation and The Children of Prince George Fund.
