Team BC takes aim in Archery

Canada’s best young archers competed at the Northern Sport Centre, Tuesday.

Team BC’s Emerie Watson of Quesnel (pictured) narrowly missed a Bronze medal in Women’s Compound Archery, losing it to Alyssa Murphy of New Brunswick

PG’s Tony Proctor missed out in the quarter finals, though the two will team up to shoot for Gold together on Wednesday.

Proctor has a very simple philosophy to keep focused to hit a target smaller than a nickel in size.

“Shut up and shoot,” he says. “That’s all it takes.”

Proctor says he loves the home town support. “It’s nice having a home town backing, it means a lot more fans sitting the bleachers for BC than for any other team,” he says.

Ontario’s Katy Horlock won Gold over Saskatchewan’s Madison Hart in Women’s Compound Archery.
