25 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in British Columbia. There are now 1,291, cases provincially according to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.
The breakdown is as follows:
- 603 in Vancouver Coastal Health (an increase of 17)
- 458 in Fraser Health (an increase of 8)
- 79 in Island Health (no change)
- 128 in Interior Health (no change)
- 23 in Northern Health (no change)
No new long term care outbreaks have been recorded (213 cases)

138 individuals are in hospital, with 66 in intensive care.
Of the total currently hospitalized:
- 51 in Vancouver Coastal Health
- 59 in Fraser Health
- 13 in Interior Health
- 11 in Island Health
- 4 in Northern Health
805 people have fully recovered, although 4 additional deaths have been recorded, for a cumulative provincial total of 43.

Dr. Henry strongly advised against holiday travel, warning that even small gatherings carry significant risk.
“This is not the weekend to travel,” explained Minister of Health, Adrian Dix.

“Starting tomorrow and over the coming days, British Columbians of many faiths, along with millions around the world, will be celebrating major religious holidays in ways that many have never experienced before,” Dix and Henry said in a joint statement.
“This long weekend, we need to stay home, to stay in our communities and to stay at a safe physical distance from others when outside. Avoiding unnecessary travel, particularly to smaller… is an important way we can protect ourselves and our loved ones,” they concluded.
