Defending champions too much for Knezevic

Patti Knezevic of Prince George followed up her only win at the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts with an 8-3 loss to Team Canada (two-time defending champion Rachel Homan of Ottawa). Team Canada took control of the game by scoring four in the 5th end. The BC champions are 1-4 and have been outscored 35-8 in their four losses. Earlier in the day, Knezevic beat PEI 7-4. The PG foursome, that includes 3rd Kristen Fewster, 2nd Jen Rusnell & lead Rhonda Camozzi, will play Ontario in the afternoon and Alberta in the evening on Tuesday.

–Manitoba and Alberta are the co-leaders at 5-0 as Manitoba beat Team Canada 8-7 in an extra end Monday night. Team Canada is 4-1. Northern Ontario and Saskatchewan are tied for 4th at 3-2. The group at 2-3 includes Ontario, PEI, Newfoundland/Labrador & Nova Scotia. Both BC and Quebec are 1-4 and New Brunswick is 0-5.
