Team BC routs PEI in ringette group play action

Team BC defeated Prince Edward Island 7 – 4 this afternoon in ringette group play at the coliseum. Shots on goal were 50 – 19 for Team BC.

Prince George’s own Sydney Irving had three assists and six penalty minutes.

“We are definitely happy.” said Irving “We had a really good first period, kind of let it slip a bit in the second but we picked it back up and had to pull it together as a team.”

She added that she’s thrilled with the chance to play at home

“It’s a really amazing feeling. Not very many people get the opportunity to have the Canada Winter Games in their home town and to be of age that year to make Team BC or whatever province you’re from”

After dropping their opening game to Nova Scotia on Saturday (4-3) they play twice tomorrow against Saskatchewan (9am) and Alberta (2pm) at the coliseum to wrap up group play.
