New lift comes to Hart Ski slopes aimed at beginner skiers

The Hart Ski Hill is celebrating the completion of its newest project, the passenger conveyor carpet lift today (Saturday).

3 years in the making, the carpet lift helps less experienced skiers and snowboarders learn the basics, without having to worry about the t-bar or chairlift.

The Nechako Rotary Group, Caledonia Adaptive Sports and The Rustad family took part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning.

“The key to the lift is getting beginner skiers up the hill, virtually anyone now can get up the hart ski hill without worrying about a lift or anything else, ” said spectator Casey Johnson.

“You just step on to the conveyor belt, and it takes you up a bunny slope that any level can handle.”

It will be at the Nechako Rotary Learning Center Zone and open until the end of March.
