It’s bad news for anyone that was looking forward to the second round of the Triple Crown motocross nationals in Prince George.
The event, planned for June 6th and 7th, will now be hosted in Kamloops according to an official statement.
Former Blackwater Administrator Kourtney Loyd made the decision to suspend the event’s three-year history in the city.
She cited an accumulation of reasons for the cancellation including dwindling spectator numbers, logistical issues around electricity and parking, as well as time commitments.
“All the top guys are my friends, and just having them in PG for three years means the world to me,” she explained.
“That’s my proudest moment: bringing all those new people here who never, in a million years, would have travelled here.”
During past events, Blackwater MX Park in Prince George was voted “Rider’s Favourite Track” for two consecutive years.
