The Prince George City Council will meet tomorrow (Monday), and there are several big-ticket items on the agenda.
Council will hear presentations from the Friends of the Prince George Public Library, and the 2020 Canadian Native Fastball Organizing Committee.
According to the Agenda, Council will be asked to consider a climate change and energy coordinator position.
The terms of reference for “A Safe, Clean, Inclusive Downtown Committee” will be revised to include the Prince George Business Owners Advocacy Group as an eligible organization for the committee.
The Director of Community Services and Public Safety, Adam Davey, additionally will be asking Council to approve financial support for the Fastball championship of up to $48,133.
That money, coming from the major events reserve, will cover rental and service costs and help purchase a portable backstop and fencing for fields to meet the major event hosting standards.
Council will vote to approve camping for 2020 Cariboo Rocks the North.
Additionally, Mayor Lyn Hall is slotted to make his year in review report.
There is also a request for remedial action regarding a property at 1103 Chilako Avenue.
Following a house fire in October of last year, council will vote to declare the property unsafe, vote to demolish and remove debris from the property and impose a time requirement on owners to complete the demolition.
The final date for demolition is suggested to be no later than February 28th, at 5 pm.
