It came down to the wire for a Prince George tradition.
The United Way Tree of Lights fundraiser exceeded its ambitious $25,000 fundraising goal by only $4.
“We actually reached our goal just after the first weekend of January,” explained Trista Spencer, Interim Executive Director of The United Way of Northern BC.
This, after the campaign was extended late last month.
“We always have these goals to strive towards for both our team and the community,” said Spencer, who believes the event creates a sense of kinship within the region.
The money raised will be put into a community investment and impact fund, and will be distributed among various mental health supports throughout Prince George.
