Four Prince George fire halls responded to a structure fire in the 4000 block of Zimmaro Avenue yesterday morning at 8:30.
The first crew on the scene found a single-family home with smoke and flames coming from the building.
The cause of the fire was labeled accidental, due to work on a snowblower, resulting in $300,000 dollars in damage.
The cold weather made an offensive attack difficult, according to Assistant Fire Chief Jon Law, but they eventually gained control of the fire through a defensive and interior attack.
One tenant was home at the time of the fire and managed to escape the building and call 9-1-1.
The tenant received precautionary medical attention, and several firefighters suffered minor injuries from slips and falls.
