A major breakthrough for Prince George RCMP on a nearly three-year old cold-case murder.
Supt. Warren Brown announced that five arrests have been made in connection with the homicide of Jordan Reno, 22.
Reno was found dead on a property at the 4100 block of Knight Crescent on the morning of Saturday, June 23rd, 2012.
“Over the past three years, the investigation has focused on the possibility that Jordan was the victim of a targeted homicide , with ties to the illicit drug trade here in Prince George,” he says.
Brown says five people have been arrested, four men and one women, located from New Westminster, to Edmonton, to Prince George.
“With the assistance of multiple specialized RCMP units, and other partner police organizations, charges of first-degree murder have now been approved by crown counsel,” Brown says.
The four men are:
Lyle Baker, 42.
Kevin Zaporoski, 47.
Bradley Barr, 35.
Dustin Lindgren, 26.
The fifth person, a 29 year-old woman from Prince George has also been arrested, though police say the investigation into her involvement is ongoing and police are still seeking approval for a murder charge.
Brown hopes the arrests can start to bring some closure for Reno’s family. “I would suggest that today’s announcement would give them, perhaps, the initiation of some closure, or direct them in that direction,” he says.
The investigation is now before the courts and the suspects are scheduled to appear at the Prince George courthouse either Friday, or next week.
