Prince George faces a weekend of intermittent precipitation

It’s been a snowy start to the new year for PG residents.

“We picked up about 10 to 12 centimetres of snow, with the possibility of a few more centimetres this morning before things weaken and start to warm up,” explained Meteorologist Bobby Sekhon.

The Government of Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Prince George, with an expected total of 15 to 20 centimetres of snow.

Because conditions are expected to stay near 0°C through the weekend, there will be a chance of showers this evening (Friday).

Tomorrow (Saturday) will be marked by mainly cloudy conditions with a chance of light snowfall overnight.

“The forecast for the next few days is going to be somewhat unsettled between dry periods and flurries,” Sekhon added.

However, despite the prediction of mild snow and rain, the region should not expect another major weather system over the weekend.
