More information on snowfall warning can be found right here.

“We are looking at a fairly robust system coming in, it’s not quite pineapple express but its origins are quite warm,”  explained Dave Ray, Environment Canada Meteorologist.

“Because of the warm air coming up from the tropics, we are looking at some warming in the overnight period with that snow changing over to rain.”

According to Ray, the city can expect a mix of snow and rain for New Year’s Eve day (Tuesday), changing to rain on New Year’s Day (Wednesday).

“We are looking at temperatures at about plus one or plus two, and then around zero overnight.”

Ray warned that areas to the east and south of the PG area can anticipate closer to 15 to 20 centimeters of snow.
