Prince George residents can prepare for a damp introduction to 2020 according to Environment Canada.
Daytime highs will hover near 0°C for the weekend, with periods of snow on Saturday. Clear skies are predicted for Sunday, transitioning into rain for the beginning of next week.
“It’s kind of a messy situation for New Year’s Eve,” meteorologist Doug Lundquist explained, as he predicts “a snow or rain mix, with a high of plus three.”
New Year’s Day will cool down slightly, with potential flurries and a high of –2°C predicted, which is still above the seasonal average of -5°C.
Those planning to leave their homes should prepare for slick road surfaces and walkways.
