Two Rivers Gallery is going to be at the centre of festivities going on for the winter games and they have a lot in store for those two weeks.
Director of Public Programs, Carolyn Holmes says the gallery will be open with admission by donation for all of the new faces they expect to see.
“We’re not sure what to expect,” Holmes admits.
“Hopefully lots of people will come through, and we’ll have a button-making station, because buttons are always fun and a lot of people collect them around the games,” she says.
Holmes says there will be two new features for games time – “Elapsed” and “North”, the latter being an exhibit for and about the Canada Winter Games.
“It features 18 artists and it’ll be a nice way to see Northern artists and how they’re representing our place, where we live, in Prince George,” she says.
Since the City is blocking off most of the downtown core’s parking during the games, Holmes is notifying regular customers that space and time will be limited.
“We’re encouraging everyone to come down, but it’d be great if you could walk, take a bus,” she explains. “There’s wonderful busing during the games and everything is free, so we’re encouraging people coming down that way and trying to avoid bringing your car to the downtown core.”
“North” opens Saturday, February 14th with a reception featuring the artists and food.
