“Food for Fare” campaign set for this weekend in Prince George

The City of Prince George and BC Transit are once again partnering with the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Passengers will be able to ride both city buses and HandyDART buses for free in exchange for the donation of a non-perishable food item on specific days.

The “Food for Fare” initiative, which has run for over 30 years, has donated “between 300 to 500 pounds of food,” to the Salvation Army every year according to Northern Transit spokesperson, Lindsay Taylor.

“It’s a great way for our community to give back and help individuals and families in need, especially around the holidays,”.
