PG to host brand-new film festival in 2020.

Prince George will be home to the first Great Northern International Film Festival (GNIFF) in 2020.

The festival, hosted by UNLTD Media, hopes to attract filmmakers from throughout Canada and around the globe while also showcasing local talent.

The GNIFF plans to feature over one hundred films that will compete in numerous award categories.

Event coordinator and owner of UNLTD Media, Norm Coyne, says he believes that the festival will “absolutely be a long-term, annual event,”.

In an interview with MyPGNow, Coyne explained that he hopes the event will “connect Prince George with future filmmakers as well as existing filmmakers,” and “shine a light on the film making industry that’s in Prince George right now,”.

GNIFF will run from September 10th to 13th, next year at the Treasure Cove Casino’s show lounge.

Tickets will go on sale on December 9th and will be available on the GNIFF website, as well as in person at the Treasure Cove Casino.

More information about the festival is available online.
