The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team had a shining star during its two-game road swing against the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack in Kamloops.
Fifth-year player Maria Mongomo is the Canada West Third Star of the Week after averaging 30 points, 12 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.5 steals during a split against TRU.
UNBC fell 68-66 on Friday but stormed back with an 87-77 overtime win on Saturday where Mongomo and Madison Landry cracked the 30-point plateau.
The T-Wolves WBB squad is 3-5 at the holiday break while the UNBC men are 4-4.
Both teams will begin the second half of their schedule on January 3rd and 4th in Calgary against the Dinos.
