Prince George’s own Kerry Betz-Stablein, will get to see her play performed on-stage from November 30th to December 8th at Artspace above Books and Company.
The Nechako Community Theatrics Society (NCTS) will be presenting Sleeping Beauty, a pantomime rendition of the classic story.
While featuring all the trappings of a traditional fairy tale, the Theatrics Society promises “a few extras” in the family-friendly comedy.
Betz-Stablein has been a long-time fixture of the NCTS, having both acted and performed in numerous plays with the group, but Sleeping Beauty marks her first foray into script writing.
Kerry said that “Its a really great production” before explaining “everyone involved is volunteering and is from our local community, and all the actors and production team have gotten together and worked really hard to put the play together”.
Since its conception in 2012, the NCTS has focused on making theatre accessible and fun for people in Prince George and the surrounding area. The group last preformed a successful run of Agatha Christie’s period drama, “Appointment with Death”.
The NCTS recommends the play for those who “want to be entertained, and laugh”.
Tickets will be on sale at Books and Company, or at the door. More information can be found on the NCTS Facebook page.
