Cirque du Soleil’s newest show will be coming to CN Centre next June.
Axel will premier in Montreal in December and is coming to Prince George June 25-28.
CN Centre general manager Glen Mikkelsen said the arena will have to reinstall its ice for the show which features skating, acrobatics, graphic art, music and more. Mikkelsen says the success of Cirque’s show, Crystal, which came to the city last year was a major factor in bringing the show to Prince George.

“So last time more than 17,000 tickets were sold for Crystal, and over a third of those tickets were from out of town,” he said. “So the regional ticket buyers are a significant portion of the people coming to our shows.”
Mayor Lyn Hall says the city’s ability to attract top-calibre performances shows Prince George is hitting its stride as a major city. As part of the announcement, Hall turned himself into a human canvas – allowing students from Pinewood Elementary to paint him in an all-white suit.
Tickets go on sale this Friday.
