Large tanker truck stolen

A rather large item was stolen in Fort St. John and could possibly be in the Prince George region.

Cst. Chad Neustaeter said surveillance video shows a 2013 Western Star Tanker Truck being taken from a fenced property at around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. Given the size and nature of the vehicle, right now the RCMP is at a loss for what it could be used for.

“At this point, it would be hard to make a guess. We aren’t sure where it might be or what it might be used for.  It’s not like a flat deck or something like that that could be used to move items that are stolen.”

According to Neustaeter, the truck could quite likely be out of the area as stolen items from Fort St. John often find their way to places like Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie or Prince George.

The Tanker is described as:

  • 2013 Western Star Tanker
  • White cab with stainless steel water tank
  • BC Licence Plate NY2943
  • VIN: 5KKPALD19DPFE1784
  • Trifecta Directional Drilling decal on the driver and passenger doors

“This is something that’s quite visible, it might stand out. Especially with the decals on the door, it would be recognizable. We’re just asking the public if they’ve seen it anywhere. If they see that one or one like it, just give us a call and we can investigate,” said Neustaeter.
