Flap issue causes emergency landing at YXS

WestJet has provided an update on Saturday’s emergency landing at the Prince George Airport.

According to the airline, a flight between Prince George and Vancouver returned due to a flap issue.

The airport received notice that an outbound aircraft declared an emergency just before 11 am and eventually landed safely at YXS.

Airport rescue and firefighters, as well as the BC Ambulance Service and RCMP, responded to the call.

The aircraft was removed from service for further inspection.

All 66 passengers were accommodated to the Vancouver International Airport on another flight.
