Running away only led to a run-in with the law for a man well known to police on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 8:30 a.m. that morning, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit were conducting a theft from motor vehicle investigation in the 1400 block of Carney Street in Prince George. While in the midst of their investigation, two males, both of whom are well known to police, happened upon the officers and immediately tried to flee the area on foot when told to stop.
After a brief foot chase, both males were taken into custody. Upon searching the individuals, one male was found to have an empty gun holster concealed beneath his clothing and the other was in possession of identification that did not belong to him. The Prince George RCMP Police Dog Services attended and located a loaded pistol on the ground in close proximity to the male with the empty gun holster; it was later determined that the pistol was stolen.
