School bus goes off the road in Vanderhoof

A Vanderhoof school bus full of kids ended up in the ditch on its side on Sturgeon point road Wednesday morning.

“The bus driver was heading down the road” said Corporal Dave Tyreman “There was a couple of logging trucks coming, the driver moved over and caught the snow on the side of the road and got sucked into the ditch.”

Tyreman says the driver “just rode it out” slowly into the ditch and the bus tipped over in the snow.

There were no injuries but all 19 kids on board were taken to hospital for a checkup before being released.
