ICYMI: Water system flushing in the Hart begins today

Crews with the City of Prince George will be doing some routine maintenance in the Hart.

Some water system flushing begins today and will continue until the rest of the month with residents may noticing some cloudy water and a slight drop in water pressure.

The water is safe to drink but spokesperson Mike Kellett told MyPGNow.com there will be certain times during the day where you should avoid doing laundry.

“Iron deposits are kicked up when lines are flushed and that might make some slight discoloration for laundry so you might want to avoid doing laundry between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.”

“We do this every summer where crews come in and flush the mains out and clear out any debris that might be in there, crews will be in the Hart between 7am and 3pm Monday to Friday.”

The flushing is part of a city program each summer to ensure residents have top quality drinking water.
