A puurfect life awaits.
Seven adult cats and two kittens were found in a sealed plastic bin earlier this month.
However, all nine felines have been treated and are ready for the next chapter of their lives in a loving home.
The SPCA’s North Cariboo & District animal centre services manager Alex Schare says they received a call from a property manager who heard the animals meowing from the inside of sealed bins.
“They have made quite the remarkable comeback given the condition they came in,” Schare told MyPGNow. “They have put on weight and they’ve been cleaned as they were matted in feces and urine when they came in. Some of them had to be shaved so some of them have better haircuts than others.”
Considering the traumatic situation the cats went through, Schare says the cats are all extremely social and gentle, adding that they were lucky to only having to handle the cats’ hygienic issues.
“Despite everything they have been through, all of the cats are vocal and friendly.”
Schare did say some of the cats are on feeding plans to ensure a complete recovery as many are still needing to gain weight, however, all are now being made available to adoption.
In order to adopt, a visit to the North Cariboo SPCA is recommended, as well as completing a cat-matching questionnaire.
