300 to be affected by water main replacement in College Heights

Starting tomorrow, July 16th, water main construction begins along Eton Avenue in College Heights.

According to city spokesperson Michael Kellet, during a recent test prior to scheduled paving in the area, crews identified several faulty valves believed to have been installed in 1980, which were in need of replacement.

Construction will occur on the following streets where they intersect with Eton Avenue in two phases lasting about one to two days each from July 16 to 19 and between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm:

  • Phase 1: Simon Fraser Avenue, Dalhousie Drive, Laval Place, and Notre Dame Drive.
  • Phase 2: York Place and Cambridge Road.

The bus stop at the North College Park Tennis Courts on Laval Place and Eton Avenue will be closed for the duration of the operation. A transit detour will run north on Simon Fraser Avenue and continue south on McGill Avenue.
