Police looking for man who allegedly chased Prince George woman

RCMP are looking for the public’s assistance in finding a man who may have been involved in a suspicious incident.

On Tuesday the Prince George RCMP were passed on an e-mail that was sent to the City of Prince George which described a man chasing a woman while she was out for a run.

The email said that around 9:30 am on Saturday, a woman was running in the Heritage area of Prince George between Coreless Crescent and Claxton Avenue when an unknown man started running to catch up to her.

The woman sped up just before the man was about to reach her and continued running to safety. The man soon stopped his pursuit and no physical contact was had.

Investigators are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the man.  Anyone with information about the man or with external video surveillance in the area, are urged to contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only).  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.  If you provide information that leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind the public that the police are not able to take reports via e-mail.  Reporting a crime to police must be done via the telephone or in person and should be done as soon as possible.
