PG turning spokes to speak on mental health this Sunday

This weekend the Prince George Ride Don’t Hide event is kicking off.

At the CN Centre, this Sunday people can participate in 6 km to 50 km bike ride to raise awareness for mental health.

It’s an annual event put on the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in communities across the country.

Manager of Education & Projects for CMHA in Prince George Mary Lu Spagrud said the event helps show how physical wellness can promote mental wellness.

“It brings mental health awareness, and conversations about mental health out of the darkness, getting people to talk about it and recognizing riding and doing things for our wellness physically and mentally are a big part of staying healthy.”

The event starts at 9:25 a.m. with a BBQ by donation after.

People can still register to participate for $50 until Saturday and for $60 on the day of the event.
