Fire crews respond to early morning fire

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire Sunday morning.

At approximately 5 a.m., crews from three halls arrived on scene to the 300-block of Kelly Street.

Upon arrival, crews found the back of a residential structure on fire with heavy black smoke coming from the rear of the structure. Quick action by the 15 firefighters on scene resulted in a quick extinguishing of the fire.

At the time of the incident, there were no occupants inside the building. No injuries were reported to have occurred to any of the firefighters involved.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $180,000.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation
