A man is confirmed dead after a crash on Highway 16 near Purden Lake, about 40 kilometres east of Prince George.
RCMP and emergency services responded to the crash just after 10 this morning (Friday).
A vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer, killing the driver of the vehicle.
According to police, the man was confirmed deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroner Service and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist are on the scene.
Highway 16 was temporarily closed but has since been reopened.

“These situations we’re never sure exactly how long it just depends on the evidence at the scene and the clean up, generally they are several hours and I would expect sometime early this evening the highway should re-open,” said Craig Douglass, PG RCMP Corporal.
