Prince George RCMP received a report of a break and enter to an occupied residence on Friday.
The incident occurred on Tasa Place, in the Hart Highlands area of Prince George.
According to the report, an adult female resident of the home found an unknown male inside her entranceway with her purse in his hands.  The female proceeded to grab the purse and pushed the suspect out the front door.  The initial call to police was made to the non-emergency line, slowing police response.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported and it appears nothing was taken. Patrols searching for the suspect were unsuccessful.
The suspect is described as:
- Caucasian male
- Tall
- Thin build
- Short dirty blonde hair
- Wearing a royal blue golf shirt, black pants and a black lanyard with what appeared to be an ID tag.
Although it has not been confirmed, investigators are looking into the possibility that the suspect was posing as a door to door solicitor.
The investigation is continuing at this moment in time.
Police would like to remind the public:
- Always lock your doors, even when you are at home;
- Immediately call 9-1-1 when an incident occurs;
- Be sure to request to see the identification of any door to door solicitors.  Legitimate salespersons will have identification and will provide you with their name.
There are a number of door-to-door salespersons making their rounds in the community at the moment, and its to be expected throughout the summer.
