The Bulkley Valley Director for the Salvation Army has made his way to Prince George to help with the relief effort.
Tim Sharp says he’s providing spiritual and emotional care for evacuees that have been displaced.
“It’s a difficult time for many people, but if someone can just come alongside and listen to them a lot of times it helps. And have a word of prayer with them as well…it helps keep their spirits up as they travel through this difficult time.”
Sharp says the Salvation Army has dispatched emergency service units to help with the relief effort along with providing meals and immediate needs to evacuees.
He explains how people here at home can help.
“Right now the Salvation Army is not asking for any clothing donations or anything like that. The best way they can help is to donate financially as we have many resources available,” says Sharp.
