City of Prince George asking the public to hold off on donations

No donations, please!

That’s the message from the City of Prince to those who want to assist the 5,000 wildfire evacuees registered in our city.

Senior Communications Officer Mike Kellett says they’re in good shape.

“We have a number of people in town, a few more than we are used to and anytime we are low on something we go out and source it and we get it so there’s tons of support in that way.”

The amount of community support has been nothing short of spectacular Kellett says.

“It’s fantastic the stuff that people are doing in terms of people coming by to say hi, hand out bottles of water and things like that and we even saw a family in front of CNC yesterday giving out free hugs so that’s just great.”

Anyone who wants to donate is asked to do so via the BC Fires Appeal by clicking here.
