UPDATE: Former Heavyweight Champ to re-schedule his Prince George visit

Former Heavyweight Champ George Chuvalo has had to re-schedule his guest appearance at the Prince George Native Friendship Centre.

No new date has been set as of now, but the fundraiser this Thursday has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled in the coming weeks.

Original Story – The Prince George Native Friendship Centre will be hosting a fundraiser with the help of a big name.

As former heavyweight champion George Chuvalo will be in town to support the efforts for the Native Friendship Centre’s Community Food Bank.

Barb Ward-Burkitt is the Executive Director of the Friendship Centre, and says he has many experiences to share:

“He’s going to be talking very much about some of the challenges that he’s had in his life, what his journey is through wellness and speaking about his family and the struggles that they’ve gone through, and that resonates very much with the work that we are doing through the Health Fair”

The fundraiser runs from 7 to 9 pm on January the 29th at the Native Friendship Centre, tickets are $35 each, with all the money from ticket sales going directly towards the Community Food Bank.
